Project Overview

Discover A.W.O.Y.O. (A World Outside Your Own) featuring The Last Moon is my thesis project for my Themed Entertainment Graduate Program at SCAD. I designed an interactive story experience that focuses on spatial innovation, interactive design, and narrative integration that could serve as a blueprint for a themed entertainment model that inspires highly immersive storytelling elements into smaller spaces—exhibiting that stories can be told well, regardless of the spatial limits or constraints of an environment.

For Discover A.W.O.Y.O.’s first use case, I wanted to use a novella I wrote, called The Last Moon, which is loosely based on the Filipino myth, Bakunawa and the Seven Moons. It is a childhood story close to my heart and I desire to share more of the story and Filipino culture with the world. The interactive story experience, Discover A.W.O.Y.O., is designed for any story to become a reality.
